Other characters: Cynthia, Miriel
CHARACTER STUFF
Name: Airachnid
Aliases: None
Canon: Transformers Prime
Role: Professional head collector, Decepticon in the past and probably in the future
Species: Cybertronian
Gender: Lady bot
Age: Old as hell (thousands of years)
Appearance:

She's about 8 feet tall in her robot mode.

She can transform into her spider mode, which lets her move more quickly and scarily.

Her vehicle alt-mode, which she won't start out with.
Origin story: Airachnid fought on the side of the Decepticons for as long as the Cybertronian civil war was going on – on Cybertron. This was a long, long time (thousands of years). She spent most of this time being terrible; she interrogated people mercilessly, shot people, stabbed people, etc. While she enjoys all of these activities, she has always had a special place in her spark for killing the partners of the Autobot Arcee. It brings her a unique kind of excitement, possibly because she is evil with a side of ultra gay.
When Cybertron became uninhabitable and everybody had to get the heck out of there, Airachnid decided that the war was over, and that she was going to do her own thing. She left the Decepticons, took her ship, and went off to other worlds. As she travelled the cosmos over the ages, she left a trail of endangered species in her wake. For each of these species whose populations she dwindled, she kept one specimen's head in a jar as a trophy. Her new hobby, just as vicious as the hobbies she used to have on Cybertron, will soon lead her to Earth, where she hopes to find another lovely head trophy.
Personality: Haha oh god Airachnid is the worst. One of her most notable characteristics is her sadism; she does much of what she does because she finds it fun, and much of what she does is god awful. Morally, she's as depraved as one can get. She has no respect or regard for life that is not her own. When she was a Decepticon, she tortured, killed, maimed, emotionally scarred, and more. Since the exodus from Cybertron, she has done more or less the same things, except to other planets' indigenous species. Others' suffering and fear is like candy to her. Cat-and-mouse games are her favorites, especially when the mouse in the situation provides her with a fun challenge. Easy prey bores her, and she does not like to be bored. She also appreciates the finer things in life, like heads floating in jars. She has no qualms about doing really nasty stuff to whoever, be it "friend," foe, or hapless victim. If one becomes her "friend" or "ally," they should expect to be dead as soon as they have outlived their usefulness.
Airachnid is very treacherous, and will not hesitate to betray someone as soon as their back is turned if it benefits her. In fact, she's all about what benefits her. She's great at self-preservation, and she knows when to retreat or yield, even if it wounds her pride. She often does this by tunneling into the ground, where most cannot follow. That's not to say she shies away from danger, however. Airachnid will do what she needs to do to get what she wants, despite any possible dangers. Though she doesn't really care for anything but her own gain, or perhaps because, she is generally good at fooling people into thinking she is trustworthy and loyal. (She most definitely is not.) While Airachnid is pretty inclined to betray anyone, she doesn't react well to betrayal by others. Being extremely vindictive, she will do all in her power to make sure the one who crossed her pays. She can be pretty creatively mean about that revenge, too (see: kidnapping and cocooning June Darby in canon with the threat that she will kill June if Jack can't rescue her within a certain amount of time). Airachnid doesn't forget, and she doesn't forgive.
As much as she is dreadful in about every way possible, Airachnid is pretty dang capable and good at getting stuff done. She's smart, a strategic thinker, and skilled at fighting. She's reliable, at least when being reliable is in her best interest. She isn't easily tricked or out-thought, but she sometimes suffers from overconfidence or excessive smugness. This can make her careless. She tends to gloat or taunt others, especially when she has the upper hand in a situation. Her taunts and "jokes" are usually designed to hit others where it hurts, and her sense of humor is mean at best. When Airachnid gets angry or feels that her authority is challenged, she can make rash decisions or not think things through as well as she would otherwise.
While she doesn't respect others in the sense that most sapient beings do, Airachnid does have a certain sort of twisted acknowledgement for some bots1 and their roles in her life. It's about the closest she comes to actually respecting someone. If she is in a situation where she can kill one of those she acknowledges2 without messing up her own plans, she will ensure that their death is as exquisite and horrible as it can be – in a different way than how she usually makes her victims' deaths horrible, of course. Similarly, she hopes that if one of them3 was going to kill her, they would make it hurt just as much. It's her fucked up way of indicating that she considers them to be worthy adversaries, since, in the end, everyone is either a tool, a rival, an obstacle, or prey.
Differences from canon: She is 8 feet tall instead of, like, 15 or something, and she can't mind-control Insecticons because that's probably a bit too much. (She can, however, mind-control robot insects. This is decidedly less deadly, but decidedly more uncomfortable a thought.)
Power level: A
Powers:
• Is a large metal robot (though a relatively fragile one – she can't take hard hits very well, and her spider legs will break off if hit hard enough)
• Has six spider-leg appendages on her back, which serve as great stabbing tools
• Can transform into her spider form and a vehicle alt mode (both shown in the Appearance section)
• Is very fast and agile, both in melee combat and ranged combat
• Can shoot immobilizing webs and energon-based blasts from the centers of her hands
• Can tunnel into the ground (or into enemies) at high speeds when in her spider form
• Has a hard light holomatter avatar so that she can project a human form
• Can make a scary vampire hissing noise – yes of course this counts as a power
Team affiliation:Team Airachnid None (she'll probably get roped into being a Decepticon again at some point)
First person sample:
[An unfortunate Autobot has been brutally tortured and dismantled, and is now lying in pieces where he is likely to be found by other Autobots. There is an audio message embedded in part of his corpse:]
I do hope you're the one to find this, Arcee. Consider it a gift of sorts. Do you like it? I heard that the two of you were close. It's truly a pity. I'm certain you would love to know, however, how he cried out for you to save him. I have to wonder: how many partners have you had since our last encounter? Tsk tsk. You really do need to take better care of them.
It's been so long since we last saw each other, you know – I've been getting bored, and you know how I feel about boredom. You should visit me sometime. We could...catch up. To contact me, simply send out your next partner with a message. I know how to find them, and I'll be sure to show them just how grateful I am.
